About

“Take your broken heart, make it into art.” Carrie Fisher said it. Meryl Streep quoted it. Creative people everywhere have embraced it. But this quotation summarizes exactly the enormous changes that have come into my work since my husband passed awayFor as long as I can remember, my work was completely abstract and primarily three-dimensional; now, in his absence, the focus is two-dimensional, and a menagerie of characters have entered my paintings.

The transition was gradual. Abstract constructions, drawings, and paintings gradually made way to strictly two-dimensional pieces. Eventually, characters began elbowing their way in. I was as surprised as anyone, but I welcome them and the new life they have generated in my studio.
